Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitarist. She also sings. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and first female recipient. In addition to receiving nine Grammy nominations, she was also the first Indian-born musician to perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was one of the Indian young sitar singer. She is a student and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was in London in 1982, and began her life by hopping back and forth between London and New Delhi. She gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of 13. When she moved to Encinitas CA in 1999 she received the high-school degree. Anouskha, who is only a teenager, has had an impressive recording and performing career. She has been performing with her father on stage for several years. In 1998, she dropped Anourag as her first single album. A year later, she dropped the Grammy nominated Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka isn't only a singer. In 2002, she released a book entitled Bapi The Love of My Live this is an illustrated biography that pays special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. In addition, she has appeared in movies in 2003. She acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka shankar is a rising superstar and her fame is expected to continue growing. Anoushka Shakar was born in England was a major part of her adult life in London Delhi. When she moved to California she finished her high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration Anoushka first made an appearance playing the sitar in front of the audience at the age of four, following her nine year old father. Her father traveled around across the world with her and she was able to gain many new experiences. When she was still in her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. It is the House of Commons Shield was given to her by the British Parliament in recognition of being the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and youngest recipient of this distinction.
